Sellers Market Caused By Housing Shortage

Sellers Market Caused By Housing Shortage

The last couple of months have been some of the craziest I have seen in my 10+years as a Realtor. I recently listed a home for a client and very little work was done to it to prepare it to sell.  In 50 days it had over 50 showings and received 6 offers.  In the past, I remember the market being a sellers market but never like this.  A full price offer on a home that was not updated or improved for the new owner.  It got me wondering why it is such a strong sellers market.  It appears based on a recent report in Realtor.com (see link below), that there is a shortage in new construction causing the spike in existing home sales.  Buyers make sure your pre-approved and ready to buy that home when you find it because if you wait it might not be there.  I guess this will be the new norm until the construction of new homes catches up to market demands.
